Cookie Clicker
Click the cookie to earn cookies, buy buildings that generate cookies automatically, and unlock upgrades that multiply your output. Progress saves to your browser automatically.
How to Play Cookie Clicker
Click the big cookie on the left to earn cookies. Each click gives you one cookie to start, but you can multiply that with click upgrades. Spend your cookies in the shop on the right to buy buildings - each building generates cookies per second automatically, so your cookie count grows even when you are not clicking.
Buildings get more expensive each time you buy one, so the first cursor costs 15 cookies but the second costs 17, and so on. The key to progress is balancing clicking, buying buildings, and purchasing upgrades as they become available.
Buildings
There are 8 buildings you can buy, starting with the Cursor at 15 cookies and going all the way up to the Wizard Tower at 330 million. Each building produces a certain number of cookies per second. Buying more of the same building stacks the production - 10 grandmas produce 5 cookies per second, 100 grandmas produce 50.
Building upgrades appear in the Upgrades section once you own at least one of that building. These multiply the building efficiency by 2x, so they are almost always worth buying as soon as you can afford them.
Upgrades
Click upgrades multiply how many cookies you get per click. They appear in the Upgrades panel once you have baked enough cookies in total. Each click upgrade doubles your click value - buying all five click upgrades gives you 32x cookies per click.
Building upgrades also multiply a specific building's output by 2x. Once you own a building, its upgrades will appear. Prioritize these early as they dramatically speed up cookie production.
Tips for Faster Progress
- Buy the cheapest available building whenever you have enough cookies.
- Always buy building upgrades when they appear - they double output for a relatively small cost.
- Click upgrades are worth buying even if they feel expensive - they stack multiplicatively.
- Early game is mostly clicking; mid game is mostly building upgrades; late game is waiting.
- The game auto-saves every 15 seconds. Use the Save button before closing if you want to be sure.
