School Chromebook Auto Clicker

School Chromebooks are managed devices. Your school IT administrator controls what you can install through a policy called Google Admin. This means the Play Store may be disabled, the Chrome Web Store may block extensions, and some settings may be locked.

However, one auto clicker method is almost never blocked: the built-in ChromeOS accessibility auto clicker. It is a core operating system feature and is not controlled by third-party app policies.

The Built-In Method (Works on Almost All School Chromebooks)

ChromeOS has an accessibility feature that automatically clicks when your cursor stops moving. It is part of the operating system, not a downloadable app. School IT policies do not typically disable this because it is an accessibility tool required under accessibility law.

How to enable it:

  1. Click the clock in the bottom-right corner to open the system tray
  2. Click the Settings gear icon
  3. Scroll down and click Advanced
  4. Click Accessibility
  5. Click Cursor and touchpad
  6. Toggle on "Automatically click when cursor stops"
  7. Set the delay. The shortest option is 0.6 seconds per click

Once enabled, move your cursor to a position on screen and stop moving. After the set delay, ChromeOS will click that position automatically.

Limitations of the Built-In Method

The minimum click interval is 0.6 seconds (about 1.67 clicks per second). This is much slower than third-party apps that can click 50-100 times per second. For tasks that require rapid clicking in games, the built-in tool is not suitable. For slower tasks like filling out forms, clicking through exercises, or navigating pages, it works well.

What If the Accessibility Settings Are Also Locked?

On very locked-down school Chromebooks, even accessibility features may be restricted. If you cannot find the "Automatically click" toggle, your school administrator may have disabled it. In this case, there is no reliable auto clicker method available on that specific device without IT administrator involvement.
