MacroDroid for Android

Over 70 triggers and 100+ actions make MacroDroid the most powerful conditional tap automation tool on Android

Overview

MacroDroid, developed by Arlosoft, is not a dedicated auto clicker. It is a full device automation platform for Android, and tapping is one of more than 100 actions it can perform. What separates MacroDroid from every dedicated clicker on this list is its trigger system. A tap sequence can be set to fire when the battery hits a certain percentage, when the phone connects to a specific Wi-Fi network, when a particular app opens, when a Bluetooth device connects, or on a precise time schedule. For power users who want clicking to be a condition-based part of a larger workflow rather than something switched on and off manually, MacroDroid has no real competition on Android.

The important caveat worth stating clearly: for straightforward gaming tap automation, MacroDroid is more tool than most situations need. A player who wants to farm Roblox or run an idle game loop will find Auto Clicker - Automatic Tap or MT Auto Clicker faster to set up and easier to control. MacroDroid earns its place when tapping needs to happen only under specific conditions, when it must integrate with device-level events, or when it is one step inside a multi-action sequence. Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Over 70 trigger types covering virtually every device event
  • Pre-built macro templates reduce setup time for common tasks
  • Conditional constraints control exactly when macros fire
  • Variables and logic blocks enable genuinely complex automation

Cons

  • Significant overkill for users who only want simple gaming taps
  • Steeper learning curve than any dedicated auto clicker on this list
  • Free version limits the number of macros that can be active

How to Download and Install

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android device.
  2. Search for "MacroDroid" and tap Install.
  3. Wait for the download to complete, then tap Open.
  4. Complete the initial onboarding walkthrough, which introduces the macro builder interface.

Enabling Accessibility Permission

All no-root Android auto clickers use Android's Accessibility Service to simulate taps on other apps. This permission is required for the app to function.

  1. Open Settings and navigate to Accessibility.
  2. Find MacroDroid under Installed or Downloaded Services.
  3. Tap the MacroDroid entry and toggle the service On.
  4. Accept the Android permission warning.
  5. If MacroDroid also asks for Notification Access or Device Administrator privileges for specific actions, grant them individually as prompts appear inside the app.
Note: MacroDroid is NOT a dedicated auto clicker. It is a full device automation platform. For simple gaming tapping, other apps on this list are faster to set up. MacroDroid becomes valuable when clicking needs to happen conditionally or as part of a larger automated workflow.

Configuration

  1. Open MacroDroid and tap the + button to create a new macro.
  2. In the Triggers section, tap Add Trigger and browse the trigger list. For gaming automation, App Open (fires when a game launches) or Time of Day are common choices.
  3. In the Actions section, tap Add Action. Scroll to UI Interaction and select Simulate Touch Event or the equivalent tap action in the current version.
  4. Enter the X and Y screen coordinates for the tap target. To find exact coordinates, enable the coordinate display overlay in MacroDroid's settings.
  5. Set a loop or repeat count if the tap should fire multiple times. Use Script/Logic actions to create loops with delays between iterations.
  6. In the Constraints section, tap Add Constraint to restrict when the macro can fire.
  7. Name the macro clearly, then tap Save.
  8. Toggle the macro active in the macro list. It will fire automatically when the trigger condition is met.

Troubleshooting

Macro not firing when the trigger condition is met

Check two things: confirm the trigger is configured correctly, and check the Constraints section to make sure no constraint is blocking the trigger from firing. A constraint like Only when on Wi-Fi will silently block execution if the device is on mobile data.

Macro firing at the wrong time or too frequently

Add constraints such as a time window or a screen-state requirement to limit when the macro can execute.

Free version hitting the macro limit

Options are to purchase the one-time unlock for unlimited macros, or consolidate multiple small macros into a single macro using action sequences and conditional logic.
